Associate Pastor JoyeDell Beers
Minister of Music and Evangelism

Pastor Joy started her life singing praises to God at the age of 3 when she, sitting on a picnic table, entertained the Bible School teachers by singing all the Bible School songs. She firmly believes, from her own experience, that children are never too young to learn about Jesus… and one of the best ways to do that is through music.

Since high school, she has provided speaking and singing programs for various churches and organizations.  Over the years, she has served as pianist, choir director, Praise and Worship leader, youth choir/drama director, board member, children’s Sunday School teacher and Bible School director.  Since she never seems to stop, her brother says “She can make a bee tired.”  But she prefers a friend’s description as being “a whirlwind of blessing.”

She is a breast cancer survivor and is shameless about giving praise to God for His protection and gift of life!  Her husband, Mark, has been a constant voice in support of her ministry. She can tell you story after story of how God protected and directed her family through the good times and the trying times. In October of 2014, in a unified act of support, her husband, along with their adult children, Andrew, Jamie and Ben, all attended her ordination service –  Minister of Music and Evangelism. “Family is where it all starts.”  Our first mission field is our own family.  You model Christ in your relationship with your spouse and children first.  To be effective examples, don’t be a “do as I say, not as I do” kind of person…
your actions must be in harmony with your words. With that in mind, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she continually encourages her children, and grandchildren, to love, serve and praise God.

Her most recent outreach started on facebook:
“Woman to Woman, Heart to Heart” a group for women of faith to connect, encourage, and support each other.   After years of watching and listening to women in distress, losing to discouragement, and bordering on depression, she decided ladies needed a day, for just them, offering Godly encouragement and Christian friendship.
“Girls Day Out” bi-annual events are the result.  Each free of charge event for women, age 16+, has included Zumba, luncheon, music, devotional, Time for Others, sharing prayer requests and testimonies, 2 vendors, fruit cup dessert, and other fun surprises throughout the day.

“Bach gave us God’s Word. Mozart gave us God’s laughter. Beethoven gave us God’s fire. God gave us music, that we might pray without words.” (quote from a German opera house)  JoyeDell believes that Music is a Gift from God since time and time again music is found in the Bible offering praise and worship to God. “I’m just giving back to God what He gave to me.” Whether it’s playing the piano, singing, presenting the children’s message, offering the morning worship message, leading a Bible study, or praying with a friend, she strives to always use her talents and abilities to honor and glorify God.
